Halloween stories!!

Here are our some of our spooky Halloween stories!!

Lola

One dark and stormy night at haunted Hotel Transylvania, it was Dracula's birthday so he had a huge party. Dracula's favourite part was the magic trick "Pick a card." Then the magician pulled out his heart and a card fell down. "Is this your card?" said the magician. "Yes" said the monster. After they sat in the spa pool and relaxed (except for Dracula who was jumping and splashing). The sun was almost up so they went to bed and if they smell a human they would pounce out of bed and eat them.

Vicky:

Once upon a time, in a tall giant temple that everyone forgot about, lived a lot of invisible ghosts and creepy mummies. The king of the temple commanded "GO TO THE CITY AND STEAL SOME STUFF!".

Kingston:

Once upon a time there was a haunted cinema. There were lots of dead people and it was very dark. Once a little boy went with a terrible doll. He went to the toilet but he didn't know it was haunted then he heard a BOO! Then he had a heart attack. Then when he woke up he saw his doll with blood on it so he named it Chicky. When he was at home he heard another boo but the sound was more scary than last time. Then he had a board called the Oeja board. He did it but then he heard a scream! The he checked everywhere but not the bath room so he did and he saw his brother in the tub.

Ian:

Long long ago there was a witch who lived in a creepy and dark temple. One day she decided to make a potion, when it was finished a bit of green smoke zoomed out of the pot! Mean while not far away from the temple there was a forest. In the forest lived a prince in a beautiful castle. Next day the witch put her new potion in a pumpkin and locked it in her secret room. Then the potion went green and fairy came out. It flew away out of the window.

Living or Non-binding

Today in our groups as to decide if an object was living or Non-living. As a class we decided there are 4 questions we can ask to decide if it is a living object.

1. Does it eat?
2. Does it grow?
3. Does it drink?
4. Does it die?

We then answered Mr McGregor's question of why a seed grows and pebbles do not. Our answers were:

1. Pebbles to not have roots to eat and drink from

2. Pebbles are not a living thing

3. Pebbles do not die

Retelling the story!

Here the fantastic Hortons are acting out their story called The Lonely Giant. They were excellent at using different voices to show characters and using their face to show different emotions.

Fractions

We were learning fractions of a shape by cutting our paper into equal pieces. Each child had one piece of paper to represent our whole. We then had to cut this in half to share with our neighbor. We then had to cut into quarters so everyone at our table could have a piece.

Kahoot!

This week in room 19 we have been learning how to use a tool called Kahoot! This is a great online site with millions of quizzes on all topics. Today we were seeing how much we knew about seeds and plants by taking a quiz. The students were so engaged and absolutely loved the quiz! We will also be trialing it as a maths warm up to help us with our basic facts.
