In the school holidays we celebrated Earth Day (22nd April). To help us learn about Earth Day we looked at different images of the Earth and had to decide what was wrong with the image. For example we showed an image of the last Northern Rhino. We had a great discussion on what we thought about the images. We then went on to share how we think we could help save the world both at school and at home. The students then picked one idea and designed a poster to persuade people to change their behaviour.
On Friday we used drama to show how we think the pollution on Earth effects different animals or people. Students worked in groups and hot seated the different roles. In the images below the girls are acting as penguins on a melting ice cap and the boys are asking them how they feel.
