Working as a whanau in Maths

This week we have been working hard on working as a whanau in maths time. We shared our ideas of how we work as a family:

* We all play our part and contribute.

*We politely agree or disagree with someone's ideas as long as we justify why.

*We make sure we listen to each others ideas.

The task we worked on today as a whanau was based on the three bears. We had to figure out who took the longest path home.

  1. Room 7 I really enjoyed my visit to your maths class and I could see you were working on the language of respectfully explaining if you agree/disagreed with someone. This is such a great skill to learn - deeper thinking, and learning to justify your reasoning. Maths is the best.... by the way... what happened about how much the mat would cost to replace?
