For the last week we have been collaborating on creating our own respectful board games. We have worked really hard to make sure our games are fun, they show all the ways we can be respectful and that they are creative. Today we finally got to play our board games. We had great fun, especially when we picked up a challenge card that was not respectful and we had to go to detention. It was great to play each others games and see what ideas they had used on their challenge cards.
This term we are working on a Foodimal project for writing. So far we have used our creative minds to create a whole new food/animal. Our animals are made up entirely of food. There has been some amazing creations:
* Pandacorn- Panda and popcorn
* Snoodle- Snake and noodle
* Applsnake- Apple and snake
*Frish- Fruit and fish
*Eggwin- Penguin and egg
* Pizzabird- Pizza and bird

This week we have been working hard on working as a whanau in maths time. We shared our ideas of how we work as a family:
* We all play our part and contribute.
*We politely agree or disagree with someone's ideas as long as we justify why.
*We make sure we listen to each others ideas.
The task we worked on today as a whanau was based on the three bears. We had to figure out who took the longest path home.
Today we had our first Futsal lesson. We ensured that when the coach was giving the instructions we showed respect and listened carefully. For the tasks we had to get into groups of 5. We had to work collaboratively to be able to complete the activity. We had great fun and Mrs D was super proud of how well we were all encouraging and praising each other. We can't wait for next week!
This week we learnt which Fale each person will belong to. Once we new who was in our team we decided to collaborate on a creative poster to display in our class who is in each Fale. The students were fantastic at sharing their ideas on how their posters should look and who would complete which task. It was great to see them working as a team already!
Thank you all for attending our Goal Setting Meetings, it was great to hear you all talking about your learning and sharing you goals with your whanau. This week to help us remember our goals we decided to make some art. We used our self portrait knowledge to create a wonderful visual reminder.

This term for Art Mrs Southcombe has been teaching us all about Picasso.
Learn: We learnt the style Picasso uses is called Abstract art. We also learnt the best way to use pastels to colour in and how to make the pastel lines smooth.
Create: Over 6 weeks we created our own Picasso art work, all of our parents at Goal Setting were amazed and can not wait to take them home to hang on their walls!
